The 2010 Winter Olympics may still be a few months away, but everRun has recently added a couple of medals to the trophy case, including the 2009 Windows IT Pro Magazine Editors Gold Award in the “Best High Availability/Disaster Recovery Product” category, and the Bronze award in the "Best Mid-range Software" category from TechAwards Circle.

Marathon has received 16 industry awards in the last two years. Congratulations to the everRun team for producing such an outstanding product worthy of industry recognition 16 times over!

Congratulations are in order (again!) for the Marathon team. everRun 2G has been selected as a finalist by Tech Awards Circle in the Best Mid-Range Software category. Tech Awards Circle recognizes the products, services, vendors and individuals making a difference in the industry today. Entries are judged by an independent circle of publication reviewers/journalists, each with at least a decade of experience covering technology from consumer electronics to enterprise-class computing. Winners will be announced at the end of October.

Nov. 10 update: Marathon's everRun 2G has been selected as the Bronze award winner in the "Best Mid-range Software" category. Congratulations once again to the everRun product team for another great award win!

Every year Windows IT Pro magazine talks with hundreds of vendors, attends dozens of product demos and reviews some of the best products out in the Windows market. All the products the Windows IT Pro staff has identified can help IT professionals do their jobs faster and more efficiently. This year we are pleased to announce that everRun VM has been chosen as a bronze winner in the virtualization category. Here’s what our CEO Gary Philips had to say:

“Given all of the innovative virtualization companies considered for this award, we are honored to be named a Windows IT Pro Editors’ Best Award winner in the virtualization category. This award is the tenth industry award we have received in the past year, a testament to the importance and value of what we are doing to help companies reduce costs and ensure the availability of their applications.”

Other winners in our category include Parallels Virtuozzo Containers (gold winner) and VMware ThinApp (silver winner).

At the beginning of July I posted asking our readers to vote for us for Fast Company Magazine’s Fast 50 Reader Favorites. Apparently quite a few people listened because we placed #1 on the list! Being nominated was honorable enough, nevermind topping the chart.

The companies nominated are all major innovators of business technology including: BlogHer, Mozilla, our partner Citrix, FedEx, etc.; so you can imagine the look on our faces when we saw where we placed on the list.

We’ve worked hard to achieve this recognition and are glad that our services aren’t going unrecognized by the community. Thanks to everyone that voted and to the team here at Marathon for making this possible.

Now we’re going to Disney World!!! (just kidding…VMworld’s more like it)

Every year Fast Company magazine “highlights the most innovative companies worldwide that take business to new creative heights.” This year we are pleased to announce that Marathon is a nominee for the Fast 50 Reader Favorites. We are asking our readers to please take a moment and vote for us as an organization that is driving and demonstrating business innovation.

The folks at eWEEK have been giving Marathon a lot of love lately. On Monday they announced the winners of the eWEEK Excellence Awards and named us the winner in the infrastructure software category for everRun VM and had this to say:

“If infrastructure is the heart of the network, then infrastructure software is the brains. In addition, the voting for eWEEK’s Best in Show wrapped up yesterday, and we weren’t the top winner, however we were in the running for second place as of late last night. Winner or not, it’s an honor to be recognized among so many top level companies that all produce products that can be considered as having the greatest impact on business moving forward.

For those of you that might have missed it, Computerworld presented medals Monday to this year’s Laureates for the 2008 Honors Program. We are pleased to say that Marathon was among the recipients for everRun VM (see the award submission here). This is a tremendous honor for us as we recognize that Marathon is amongst several of the major players in the industry who are all innovators in information technology.

This week the folks at SearchServerVirtualization.com announced the winners of their first annual Products of the Year awards. The contest spanned four categories: virtualization platforms, hardware for virtualization, systems management and data protection.

We wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate our counterpart Citrix for taking home the Gold in the virtualization platform category for Citrix XenServer Enterprise Edition 4.0. Way to go guys! Give em’ hell in 08’!
